Think about the stories you heard as a child. You can still remember and connect with them just like it was yesterday. Yes, stories build relationships in sales too. Not only telling stories, but giving your prospect or customer the opportunity to share with you their own stories. How? Like this.
You ask them questions. You listen. You acknowledge. You relate to their stories and the relationship begins.
It’s that simple.
Your Stories Can Build Relationships
When you ask your customer or prospect questions about them or things of interest in their office, you are giving them the opportunity to tell you their story.
People love to talk about themselves to others. If you don’t believe me, listen to yourself. I’m sure you are telling stories all the time.
So here is the point. It’s okay to tell stories about yourself, only if they are related to the story your customer is telling you. Do it right and the stories build relationships that will last forever.
On one of my sites centered around my grandkids, I talk about building unbreakable bonds through the imagination of grandkids. It’s all about our experiences together using our imaginations to create fun and exciting adventures.
