You have a great product. The price is spot on market value. But you still need to know how to sell a product to a customer. If you don’t know how to do that, the product doesn’t matter. Where do you start?
The Sale Starts Before the Product
If you take a moment to think about this, learning how to sell a product to a customer starts with a marketing strategy.
Think of it this way. You want to build a house. First, you hire an architect and a contractor. They layout the plans, the designs, the strategies it will take to build your house.
Or you could do this instead. You know what a house looks like so you pour some concrete. But you forgot to do the dirt work and layout the plumbing.
So you decide to build the swimming pool you want to go along with your house. You dig a hole. Then you find out there are gas and power lines running right where you are digging.
Next you decide to just put up a fence around what will be your backyard. You get halfway through to find out you have encroached on your neighbor’s property.
The point is, before you can have the house you want, you have to plan first. It’s the same in sales too.
How to Sell a Product to a Customer
Before you ever make the first appointment, you have to plan. You need to do your homework and find out about your prospects. How? Have you ever heard of Google? How about Linkedin?
What it all boils down to is simple. If you want to know how to sell a product to a customer, spend some time planning. No, it’s not glamorous. But it is a necessity if your goal is to make the sale.
Take it one step further.
